Ni hao ma!
Vida was a High School teacher before becoming a Columban lay missionary. She is from Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay. She enjoys baking, reading and dancing. She has three beautiful dogs. Vida got to know the Columbans through Jasmine Yap, whose sister, Jennifer at that time was the Columban LM assigned in Fiji. Vida eventually decided to join the Columbans to explore other possibilities outside Ipil, her hometown. She was at the crossroad of her life – looking for a new direction in life. Vida believes that the “Columban Mission” is being with God’s people and with herself. She now works with the indigenous people in Taiwan as catechist. She has been in Taiwan as Columban lay missionary for the last 11 years.
God calls from wherever we are or whatever we are. And when you are ready, just say ‘yes.’ And it will turn out to be the greatest adventure of your life.
